PHTHALIC ACID ESTERS - BPA is the most well known, they are used in soft plastics and resins, found in makeup, detergents, shampoos and slow release pharmaceutical drugs.  They are known endocrine disruptors and implicated in abnormal fetal development.

 

PARABENS - preservative found in cosmetic, pharmaceutical and industrial products, they have been implicated in development of breast cancers due to their oestrogenic effect.
